We are really enjoying the heater. I usually burn it until the tower over the riser is 250-260 degrees. That holds heat well enough the furnace set at 60 doesn’t come on day or night. I have been lighting it about 8am and 8pm. We got a notice today from Farm Bureau letting us know their under writer has accepted the heater for homeowners’ insurance. Woo Hoo!

Why Insulate?

By insulating all around the burning fuel, and along the path the gasses travel beyond the fuel feed area, the heat of combustion is focused on the fuel until it is completely consumed. Rather than attempt to use heat from the combustion area to heat the space, the stove’s cook top and bell, and any subsequent mass thermal storage, are downstream of the combustion areas. In this way, complete combustion is assured.

In 2015 Walker Stoves was chosen as one of 13 finalists in The Alliance for Green Heat and Popular Mechanics’ Wood Stove Design Challenge. Since then, sharing these clean efficient wood burning stoves with as many as possible became the goal. With hundreds of examples in use all over the world, Walker Stoves® plans are sharing warmth.
